Ray Kiser became Senior Pastor of Lake Travis United Methodist Church in June, 2009. He comes to us with a high commitment to the Methodist theology of grace and personal transformation: that all who turn to Jesus Christ by faith become a new creation in Christ (changing/growing here and now and for eternal life) by the grace and power of God—that this new reality in our lives is the first fruit of the redemption of the world—and that the basic mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Ray believes that God has particular dreams and callings for the people of Lake Travis United Methodist Church, and is committed to enlivening the vitality of our congregation in engaging worship, prayer-centered fellowship, high quality education and spiritual formation at all age levels, and adventurous mission and witness with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Ray has served congregations in Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and McAllen, Texas. He is a graduate of Duke University, Yale Divinity School, and the Claremont School of Theology where he earned a Ph.D. in Theology and Personality with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling.
Dr. Kiser is a native of Welch, West Virginia. He is married to the former Stacy West, and they have three children, Christopher, Sarah, and Grace.
