Health Kits for Haiti
As a part of the earthquake relief work in Haiti, The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has communicated a need for Health Kits, which give individuals access to essential supplies for everyday life. We are collecting donations (both items and money) for this effort through January 31st.
Each health kit must contain only the following NEW items:
- 1 hand towel (15” x 25” up to 17” x 27”). No kitchen towels.
- 1 washcloth
- 1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
- 1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
- 1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
- 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, no child-size brushes)
- 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
- $1.00 to purchase toothpaste
***Please do not include any religious, political or patriotic notes or emblems in any kit.*** Place these items inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag.
Each kit is valued at $12. Feel free to provide a complete kit or select an item you would like to donate toward the completion of other kits. We will also accept monetary donations to either buy more supplies or help UMCOR with the shipping costs.
There will be several donation collection spots around the church campus. Thank you for your help! Know that you are making a difference in people’s lives!
