
LTCM is an inter-faith outreach mission of volunteers that provides a helping hand of love, food, clothing, counseling, and help with electric bills and other basic necessities to those in need in the Lake Travis area. LTUMC supports LTCM with food and diaper drives, a monthly monetary donation, and as annual golf tournament.
Reverend Meridith Whitaker is a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries serving as a Church and Community Worker. She is the Director of Cookson Hills Center United Methodist Mission, a mission project to the Cherokee Indians in Cookson Hills, Oklahoma, southeast of Tulsa.
As the administrator, Ms. Whitaker works to develop programs that will help the people of this very poor tri-county area find ways to live within their means. She administers a thrift shop, craft shop, cottage industries, food-cooperative, day care, summer work camps, counseling and health programs, special projects and other programs that focus on child and health education issues. Church Under the Bridge is a worship service for Austin’s homeless held under the I-35 bridge between 6th and 7th streets each Sunday. Quarterly, we go to pass out bags of grace which contain toiletry, food, and first aid items.

Preschool, Vacation Bible School, & tutoring for bilingual children in the Lake Travis UMC community
ESL Classes – English as a Second Language program offers weekly language and literacy enrichment classes to Spanish speaking adults in our community. assistance at weekly adult lessons and instruction.
