PRESCHOOL

The mission of the Lake Travis United Methodist Church Preschool is
to provide the children of our community with quality care in a Christian
setting: to offer nurturing and encouragement; to guide them in learning
about themselves, the world, and Gods love; to build self-esteem;
and to see them, not as they are now, but as they are capable of becoming.
Goals
Our goal is to help children go to their first day of Kindergarten ready
to learn. Academics are taught through the use of stories, songs, play,
and hands-on experiences. Children use natural creativity and curiosity
to develop intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually.
We use the Wee-Learn curriculum that:
• celebrates each childs unique qualities and instills multi-cultural
appreciation,
• fosters individuality and creativity,
• emphasizes a love of books and reading, and
• teaches children to be respectful of nature and responsible
in their use of the resources God provides.
Staff of LTUMC Preschool direct and teach using Christian tenets and
values. The National Association for the Education of Young Children
cites one aspect of early-childhood programs as making the single greatest
difference - the personal interaction between teacher and child. Through
this relationship, children develop a sense of themselves as successful
learners.
We offer a 9 month program, closed in summer. Classes
are held Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Class days
vary depending on the age of the child.

Preschool Registration and Enrollment
We begin our registration process in the spring. We allow our currently
enrolled students, their siblings and church members to enroll first.
When this is completed, we open our registration process up to those
students on our Wait List.
Wait Lists
Any student wishing to enter our program must first be on our wait list.
Please download the Wait
List Form, complete it and return it to our address along
with a check for $25.00 (non-refundable)wait list fee. When you are
on our wait list it is for the next available opening - not a specific
class. When an opening becomes available and your child's name is at
the top of our list, we will call you and offer you this spot. If you
decline this spot, your name goes to the bottom of the list. On the
other hand, if the spot we are offering your child is not your first
choice (but you accept it), we can guarantee your child this opening
and wait list him/her on the class of your choice. Should an opening
become available in the class of your choice, we will move your child
into that class. We will make changes in class assignments up to one
week before school starts in the fall.
Please note that once you are on our waitlist, your name remains there
until we offer you a spot or until you tell us you no longer want to
be on our wait list.
Registration Forms
Once your child is accepted into our program, you will need to complete
a registration form and include a $100.00 (non-refundable) registration
fee. This is usually done in person at the preschool office, as it allows
you to see our program and ask questions.
Enrollment Forms
Once your child has been accepted into our program, and you have submitted
your completed Registration Form, we will give you a packet of Enrollment
Forms required by the State. These forms (with the exception of the
Medical Form) should be completed and returned to the Preschool Office
by May 1. The Medical Form needs to be completed and signed by your
doctor. This form is needed prior to the first day of school. If you
have misplaced any of these forms, please download them at the link
in the top right column of this page, complete them and return them
to us via mail.
