Audiences
of all ages will find that puppets are entertaining, educational, and
enabling and for everyone. When these characteristics are combined
with the stories and messages of our faith, a very effective ministry develops.
With such a strong visual impact, puppet shows capture our attention...and
hold it. There is 'a child in all of us' that opens our hearts to the stories,
songs and antics of puppets.
The puppet team is composed of youth (4th grade through high school) who rehearse regularly. The requirements for puppeteers are at a minimum. Strong arms are needed to support the puppets for extended periods of time, and kneeling on the ground can get uncomfortable, but all who try can find some success with puppets Besides handling puppets, there is a place for those who enjoy costuming, sets, special effects and lighting. Our puppet team performs for worship once a month and throughout the year at special programs - health fair, Christmas program, etc. The team is also available for public performances.
