Life Search 101

Our purpose is to joyfully grow in harmony with God through service, study, and support.  Our class uses a variety of study materials to address a wide range of topics.  Lessons are linked to biblical principles and teachings with a focus on application to our daily life and a healthily dose of fun.

J.O.Y.

The  J.O.Y.  is a lively group which averages 20-30 participants each week.  Our format is lecture  and discussion.  If you like power point presentations and video this is the group for you.  We don’t use curriculum – no homework required.  The focus is on scripture – understanding the historical context in which it was written and the applications it has for our lives today.  Our teacher is Dr. Molly McFarland and Cary Boddeker is the class president.   Join us at 9:40 in the Wesley Room.  We hope you will learn something new and we know you will be warmly welcomed.

Lost and Then Found

Our study each Sunday is taken from the Journey Through the Bible series, and currently we are in Volume 7, titled, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations.   We pass the teaching responsibility around to those in the class that feel they would benefit from studying and preparing a lesson.

Family Matters

Family Matters class focuses on how both scriptural and contemporary Christian guidance helps us to build strong Christian families.  Each lesson involves group discussion, allowing us to share experiences - both successes and failures - in effectively sharing and building our faith with our children, spouses and friends.  All of our members are parents with children ranging from infants to teens to fully grown adults.

Current Study: The Reason for God, based on the New York Times bestselling book The Reason For God: Belief In An Age of Skepticism by Timothy Keller.  We are addressing the most frequent doubts about our faith and the sound, rational arguments in favor of believing in and following a Christian God.  We discuss effective ways to impart these arguments on our children so they can both learn about and defend our faith.

New Horizons

We are a fun and energetic group of young adults – both single and married. We enjoy learning more about God’s word while expanding our circle of Christian Friends.  Sunday School class topics are taken from Scripture and include an emphasis on everyday issues such as spiritual growth and relationships.  We enjoy gathering for quarterly social activities and actively participating in the church’s ongoing mission
projects.
