United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually, and to seek daily His will. Its primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships.

2009 Men's Adventure

April 24-25, 2009

This is NOT a MALE-ONLY or LAY-ONLY event. Likewise, this is NOT just for churches that have United Methodist Men. It is for any congregation that wants to mobilize themselves for attracting men, families, and youth to their churches. So please help by getting the word out to your friends. The cost is $50.00 for individuals; $45.00 for two from the same church; $40.00 for 3 or more from same church who register together. This two day event begins with registration at 6:30 pm, Friday, and goes through Saturday, April 25th. It is being sponsored by the SWTX Conference UMM. The Conference UMM president is Ralph Thompson and can be reached at ralph-t@wcc.net. If you cannot attend the Friday evening event with the Bishop then consider coming on Saturday for the day. In addition, please bring cans of food or baby "pampers" for our "New Incubator Ministries Concept". More Information

Scouts Breakfast

We want to have you &the scouts there at this breakfast for several reasons. Mostly so that they & the men can see what this ministry is doing for our community. Next, we will host a team from Emmaus Walk 1513. After breakfast the Emmaus Team will go to work preparing for walk 1513, while the UMM and scouts will talk about scouting in the Sanctuary. All your efforts here will be most appreciated to make this a most successful event. The UMM have tried to give ourselves a rebirth by focusing our actions on ministries of the church. Scouting should be one of the building blocks of our entire ministry. You can make this a real success by returning a huge scouting turnout. The date is May the 9th, breakfast is at 8:00 and scouting presentation starts at 9:00 for an hour.

At Wesley UMC, Austin. This is part of the 2nd Austin District Quarterly Men's Meeting, 7:30 am - 10:00 am, breakfast at 8:00 am. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Rusty Teeter, Director of the Texas Wesley United Methodist Campus Ministry. Sponsor a man from your church to answer the Upper Room Prayer Center remote phone from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. The recommended pledge is $100.00 or more and will be split between the Scholarship Fund for district youth and the Upper Room Prayer Center. More Information
