The Joe Gorman Scholarship Fund was created to honor the legacy of Joe Gorman, a man who was true to his faith. He served the church in many capacities like serving on administrative boards, teaching vacation Bible school, making breakfast tacos, driving the church bus and establishing this scholarship fund with the United Methodist Men that would come to bear his name.

2026 Scholarships

The United Methodist Men of Lake Travis United Methodist Church (LTUMC) offer Joe Gorman Memorial Scholarships, which are applicable to any accredited university, college or trade/technical school for the upcoming academic year.

These scholarships are open to all genders. Once your application and essay is submitted, we will contact you to schedule a phone call or in-person interview to learn more about you and your goals for the future.

Scholarship applications can be submitted Tuesday, January 13 through Thursday, February 26, then follow-up interviews will be scheduled.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant and/or parents/guardians are members of LTUMC
• Applicant regularly attends worship services at LTUMC
• Applicant regularly participates in LTUMC youth activities
• Applicant has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 (GPA on date of submittal)
• Submission of completed application.

• Submission of a minimum 3-paragraph essay about your faith, academic goals and how you meet the criteria for the scholarship
